TREK + ADRENALIN

TREK + ADRENALIN

Three day trek + three days of adrenalin rush activities

READY TO HAVE FUN?

Do it all in the same holiday: Take your pre-teens/teenagers or your friends up to sleep in a real mountain refuge at altitude for a couple of nights (trekking between refuges each day), swim in the mountain lakes and streams, climb a summit for the big 360° view. Then spend a couple of days doing higher adrenalin activities like via ferrata and canyoning.

This holiday is a great balance between walking and other mountain activities.

ITINERARY

DAY 1

Arrive in Lourdes, we collect you and transport you to Argeles-Gazost for the first night. Briefing with the guide to make sure your packs and trekking equipment are complete. Have a walk around this pretty mountain town and find some dinner.

DAY 2

Your guide will collect you and transport you up to the Pont d’Espagne where you begin your trek. You either have a relatively easy four hour walk up to the Refuge Wallon in the Marcadau Valley, or, if you’d like something more challenging, a longer walk via the high lakes.

DAY 3

Leaving Refuge Wallon early is essential as you have a big high mountain day, first over into Spain, then back into France and down to the Oulettes Refuge, from where you look onto the north face of the Vignemale (3298m). This is a spectacular day’s walking on the Pyrenean High Route.

DAY 4

Today is summit day and the Petit Vignemale (3032m) awaits. It is another big day out – with 900m ascent and 1500m descent. From the top you have a fabulous 360° view onto the Ossoue Glacier, the Lac de Gaube below and into Spain. We return to the Pont d’Espagne and our van. Transport around to Luz.

DAY 5

Now the adrenalin lovers have their reward – the challenging high ropes course (with two huge zip wires over the gorge) in the morning and the mountain scooter in the afternoon.

DAY 6

After your training on the high ropes course, today you set out for the via ferrata in the morning and canyoning in the afternoon. It is a day full of excitement and thrills.

DAY 7

For your final day, use all the skills you’ve gained during the week and set of for a caving expedition in the foothills of the Pyrenees. It's the perfect end to a big week.

DAY 8

Transfer back to Lourdes. Take the opportunity to visit the pilgrimage sites or the castle.
