Get out and about with an action packed week of activities in the mountains. The standard pack gives you five different activities, which leaves you time to explore, and also choose a couple of others, should you wish. Perfect for those looking for a bit of a challenge, and families with teenagers keen to test themselves (and parents who have forgotten they could do all these things!).
Staying in Hotel Les Templiers, or in a self catering apartment in Luz St Sauveur the classic multi-activity week has the following activities offered on an ‘a la carte’ basis.

CHOICE OF ACTIVITIES
HIGH ROPES - 25€pp
With green, blue, red and black routes this high ropes course in the trees has something to build confidence or challenge as desired. The green area is for kids from 4 years and up. Starting only 1m off the ground this is the space where young ones learn how to use the harness and carabiners, all while making their way through 20 different games and 170m of zip wires (flying foxes). For older kids the blue area is the place to start. Tarzan jumps, rope bridges and climbs along with 130m of zip wires. Move into the red zone for more challenges, before reaching the black with its booby traps and obstacles. The grand finale is two very impressive zip wires across the gorge (about 60m up).
WHITE WATER RAFTING - half day 35€pp
You have the option of white water rafting, canoeing if you have a bit more experience, lie-lowing. Plenty of fun for everyone, the whole family is into a wetsuit and into the water. A bit of speed and a splash. Enjoy the sensation of floating down the river and the buoyancy afforded by the wetsuit and life jackets when you are tipped out! Plenty of thrills and spills for those who like them. The rafting is great preparation for canyoning if you are doing that later on, and a lovely way to see the world from a different angle. For 7 years and up with parents.
GUIDED WALKING - full day 45€pp
A day out with a qualified International Mountain Leader introduces you and your children to walking in a high mountain environment. The leaders are full of information about the mountain surrounding you, and adjust the pace of the walk so everyone remains comfortable. There is no hurry, and plenty of time to reach the summit or the high point of the walk, stopping on the way for a drink and a snack, to look at flowers, discuss local culture, flora and fauna. We often tackle an achievable summit for the thrill of the 360° view. Everyone will be pleased by the end of the day.
CANYONING - half day 45€pp
Into your wetsuit and ready for the ride of your life. Like a roller coaster but here you are in charge, or you try to be as the river sweeps you along and down. You walk, and swim, slide and jump. The height of the jumps increases as you descend the river. Taking up to two hours you will enjoy being warm in your wet suit in the cold water, the various obstacles to move through, and the adrenaline of the big jumps. All are optional and you can walk around if you do not fancy them. Thrills guaranteed. There are more challenging options in the valley so ask about these if you’d like something extra.
LUZ TYROLINE - 45€pp
16 zip wires (flying foxes) from 40-250m in length, 4 Nepalese bridges connected by 11 mini sections of via-ferrata take you down 2 kilometers of extraordinary gorge, finishing right under the Napoleon Bridge in Luz St Sauveur. The most physically difficult part is the walk up from under the bridge, but a head for heights and thrills is required. All the necessary equipment is provided (hard hat, harness, pulleys) and you are taken through the safety basics before you begin. All groups are accompanied by a guide.
HORSE RIDING - 2 hours 35€pp
Up on the Lienz Plateau the riding centre offers two hour rides around the mountain, or one hour lesson and a one hour ride. It’s a gorgeous setting and right next to the renowned restaurant “Chez Louisette”, which is open for afternoon tea and coffee, along with lunch and diner.
VIA FERRATA - half day 45€pp
There are two via-ferratas in the valley – one underneath the Napoleon Bridge in Luz, and one, more challenging, between Gèdre and Gavarnie. We recommend completing the high ropes course before tackling the via-ferrata so everyone is well trained using carabiners and clipping in and out of the security rings. Basically the via-ferratas are rock climbing made easy – you can head across a cliff face relatively easily with foot and hand holds on the metal rings. The thrill of the height and a physical challenge without requiring the technical skills of rock climbing. A great sense of achievement guaranteed at the end!
CAVING - half day 45€pp
If you’d like more abseiling and to discover the wonders of the underground then caving is a great option. If you have previously done other mountain activities, and are comfortable in a harness then this is the next thing to try. Either full day or half days are possible.
MOUNTAIN SCOOTER - 2 hours 25€pp
Fun for everyone and for all levels. None of the technical skills of mountain biking are required – just basic balance, like for riding a normal bike. You descend 1000m from the high pastures down through through villages, fields and barns to the bottom of the valley, accompanied by a qualified guide, and followed by a van, so if you’ve had enough you can jump in the van for the rest of the way.
PARAGLIDING - 70€ - 140€
The weather determines whether you can do this or not. But book in and then we all adjust and reschedule around the wind direction. A truly extraordinary experience.
ACCOMODATION PRICE
SELF CATERING
Price depends on your choice of accommodation, but roughly 795€-1500€/week.
Ask us for options. We provide bed linen, bath and tea-towels, an information pack with some short self guided walks and a 1:25000 topographical map. All activities can be organised on an ‘a la carte’ basis so you can choose as you please. You need to bring swimming towels and leave the apartment clean as you found it. Cleaning can be provided on request (usually 60-100€ depending on the apartment/house).

Start any day, and come for more or less than a week if you choose. Family room 4P, 105€/night, Triple room 95€/night, Double/Twin rooms 85€/night. Breakfast and activities can be added on as you please.
